The Office of the Attorney General is seeking applicants for an Assistant Attorney General in its Contract Litigation Unit. The position is responsible for litigating disputes, often factually and legally complex, arising out of the formation and administration of State construction and service contracts, and for providing advice on contract issues to a variety of State agencies. The position offers the opportunity for significant civil litigation experience in a collaborative working environment.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible litigation experience, Maryland Bar membership, first chair deposition experience with fact and expert witnesses, and at least second chair trial experience, as well as strong analytical, writing and advocacy skills. An interest in construction is helpful.

ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL

The Office of the Attorney General is seeking applicants to serve as an Assistant Attorney General at the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene ("DHMH"). The Assistant Attorney General will serve as counsel to DHMH's Infectious Disease and Environmental Health Administration ("IDEHA"); will assist IDEHA, other units at DHMH, and local health departments across the State in the administration and enforcement of State laws that protect the public health, including in the development and promulgation of regulations; and will represent the Department in a wide range of administrative and judicial proceedings involving the protection of the public health.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of legal experience, including substantial litigation experience, and admission to the Maryland Bar.

CONTRACTUAL STAFF ATTORNEY

The Office of the Attorney General, Department of General Services ("DGS"), seeks applicants for a Contractual Staff Attorney position. The Department of General Services (DGS) is charged with procurement of commodities and energy, the design and construction of public improvements, the acquisition and disposition of real property interests for the State of Maryland, and the maintenance and security of state buildings. This position will be responsible for handling Lease and Real Estate Transactions. Responsibilities for this position include reviewing Standard and Revenue Leases, Title and Document Review, Document Preparation, Closing Oversight, research and responding to Public Information Act requests.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience and possess strong research and writing skills and admission to the Maryland Bar.
