AG Gansler Hosts Two Prince George's County Mortgage Settlement Workshops Informational workshops this week will help distressed homeowners get answers and connect with nonprofit housing counselors Baltimore, MD (May 22, 2012) - In the ongoing effort to help distressed Maryland homeowners get the relief and assistance that may be available under the recent Mortgage Servicing Settlement, Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler will host two mortgage settlement informational workshops this week in Prince George's County. On Wednesday, May 23, distressed homeowners are urged to attend an informational workshop at Kenhill Center/Old Bowie City Hall. On Thursday, May 24, the event will be held at Gwynn Park Middle School in Brandywine. Both events are from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Participants will be able to speak with local nonprofit housing counselors. The workshop is geared towards distressed borrowers who have lost their homes to foreclosure, those homeowners currently facing foreclosure or anticipate the possibility in the near future and those who find themselves “underwater” with their mortgage. Attorney General Gansler will host and participate in more than 20 such informational sessions in the coming months; sponsored, hosted or assisted by elected leaders, local nonprofit and government housing agencies and legal aid representatives.
