Deputy Communications Director
MD ( July 22, 2011) - Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler has announced the hiring of Alan Brody as Deputy Communications Director for the Maryland Office of the Attorney General (OAG). Brody’s responsibilities will include press and public relations, developing publications for the Consumer Protection Division, and assisting in the coordination of educational programs and community outreach events that inform the public about the services and assistance provided by the Division.
“We are excited to have a professional of Alan’s caliber join our team,” said Attorney General Gansler. “His talents are a welcome addition to our efforts to educate and inform the public about the rights and protections we all have as consumers and citizens of Maryland.”
Prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office earlier this month, Brody spent six years as a state government and political reporter for The Gazette of Politics & Business and Southern Maryland Newspapers. Previously, he covered county government and education for the Maryland Independent in Waldorf, Md.
A 2002 graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, Brody recently returned to his alma mater and earned a graduate certificate in multimedia journalism, a new program offered by the Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
