Attorney
General’s Task Force on Electronic Weapons to Hold Public
Hearings
BALTIMORE,
MD (April 22, 2009) - Attorney General
Douglas F. Gansler’s Task Force on Electronic Weapons
will hold two public hearings:
- Thursday, April 23, 2009 from
3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Prince George’s
County Department of Parks and Recreation, Auditorium, 6600
Kenilworth Avenue in Riverdale.
- Thursday, April 30, 2009 from
2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., University
of Baltimore, Angelos Law Center,
Moot Court Room, Room 100, 1420 North Charles Street in Baltimore.
Electronic weapons,
including “tasers,” are utilized
by several local, county, and State law enforcement agencies. The
Task Force was formed to review law enforcement’s current
policies on electronic weapons and their use of electronic weapons.
The Task Force will issue a report to the Attorney General, the
Governor, and the General Assembly by the end of 2009.
