CHILLUM CAR WASH CHARGED WITH WATER POLLUTION
Maryland Attorney
General J. Joseph Curran announced today that water pollution
charges have been filed against Dr. Wash Inc.,
a car wash located at 5902 Riggs Road in Chillum Maryland. The
charging document alleges that on September17th and 18th 2005,
Dr. Wash discharged car wash waste water into the storm drain located
at the intersection of Chillum and Riggs Road in Prince George’s
County.
If convicted of the offense, Dr. Wash Inc., a Maryland Corporation,
could receive a maximum fine of $25,000. The filing of a criminal
information is merely an accusation of criminal wrongdoing. All
defendants, whether corporate or individual, are presumed innocent
until proven guilty.
These
charges follow a joint investigation conducted by the Environmental
Crimes Unit of the Office of the Attorney General and the Maryland
State Police. Preliminary hearing dates have been set for April
19, 2006 in the District Court of Maryland for Prince George’ s
County.
