CURRAN RECOUPS $3,539,702.99 FOR MARYLAND CONSUMERS
Maryland Attorney General J. Joseph Curran Jr. released today
his Consumer Protection Division statistics for the year 2005.
The Consumer Protection Division provides mediation services to
consumers to help resolve complaints against businesses and health
insurance carriers. In 2005 the Consumer Protection Division received
12,124 complaints from Maryland residents and through its mediation
efforts helped those residents obtain $ 3,539,702.99 in financial
relief.
