QUEEN
ANNE’S COUNTY WOMAN PLEADS
GUILTY TO THEFT FROM FORMER EMPLOYER
Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr. announced today the
guilty plea of Rolane Sue Thom , 58, for stealing money
from her former
employer, Botanical Treasures, Inc. Thom, who lives in the 13700
block of Main Street, in Queen Anne’s County, admitted to
taking more than $50,000.00 between 1998 and 2001 while she was
employed as a bookkeeper for Botanical Treasures, Inc. a garden
ornament and gift store located in the Queenstown Outlet Center.
The penalty for Felony Theft is 15 years imprisonment, a $1,000.00
fine or both. Sentencing has been scheduled by the Honorable
Thomas G. Ross, Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court, for August 8,
2005.
The case was investigated by the Office of the Attorney General,
Criminal Investigations Division and the Maryland State Police.
