NURSING ASSISTANT CHARGED WITH IMPERSONATING A LICENSED
PRACTICAL NURSE
Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr. announced today that charges
have been filed in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court charging
Jerry Lee Holland of Saltzman Road, Severna Park, with Practicing
Licensed
Practical Nursing Without a License, Misrepresentation as Authorized
to Practice Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN), and Counterfeiting
a Public Document. It is alleged in the charges that Jerry Lee
Holland, age 44, practiced licensed practical nursing at Psychotherapeutic
Services, Inc., in Annapolis, Maryland without a license to practice
LPN, and that he counterfeited a LPN License.
While a criminal information or charge is merely an accusation
of wrongdoing and every individual is presumed innocent unless
the State proves the charges beyond a reasonable doubt, if convicted,
the maximum penalty for Practicing LPN Without a License and
Misrepresentation as Authorized to Practice LPN is one year,
a fine of $5,000, or
both. If convicted, Counterfeiting a Public Document carries
a maximum sentence of 10 years.
This case was investigated by Office of the Attorney General,
Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and the Maryland Board
of Nursing
. The case will be prosecuted by the Criminal Investigations
Division with the assistance of the Maryland State Police.
