BALTIMORE CITY WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FILING A FALSE
APPLICATION TO PURCHASE A REGULATED FIREARM
Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr. announced today that Yolanda
Louise Cain, of Baltimore City, entered a guilty plea, in the
Circuit Court for Howard County, to filing a false affidavit
and application
to purchase a regulated firearm. Ms. Cain has admitted to stating
on the application that she was not the respondent against whom
a civil protective order had been entered, when in fact a final
protective order had been entered against her in the District
Court for Baltimore City. The Honorable Lenore Gelfman sentenced
Ms.
Cain to three years, suspended the sentence and placed her on
two years supervised probation.
This case was investigated and prosecuted by the Firearms Trafficking
Unit of the Office of the Attorney General which is funded by
the Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention in cooperation
with the Firearms Enforcement Section of the Maryland State Police.
