IMPOSTOR
CHIROPRACTOR CHARGED WITH PRACTICING WITHOUT A LICENSE
Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr. announced today that Woody
Dorcely, age 33, of 509-B South Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg,
Maryland, was charged on June 14, 2004, in the Montgomery County
District Court with the charges of Practicing Chiropractic Without
a License and Misrepresentation that he was authorized to practice
chiropractic. No trial date has yet been set.
The pending
cases will be prosecuted by the Criminal Investigations Division
of the Maryland Attorney General’s Office with the
assistance of the Maryland Board of Chiropractic Examiners. While
a charge is merely an accusation of wrongdoing and every individual
is presumed innocent unless the State proves the charges beyond
a reasonable doubt, the charges of Practicing Chiropractic Without
a License and Misrepresentation (that he was authorized to practice)
both carry a maximum penalty of 6 months, a $2,000 fine, or both.
