DUNDALK
MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FALSE STATEMENT ON GUN APPLICATION
Attorney General
J.Joseph Curran, Jr. announced today that Robert Edward Pasik,
Jr. of Dundalk entered a guilty plea to one count
of making a false statement on an application to purchase a regulated
firearm. Mr. Pasik answered "no" and initialed question
number 6 which states:
"If you
are less than 30 years of age at the time of completing this
application, have you ever been adjudicated delinquent by
a juvenile court for a crime of violence ( refer to question number
2 for the definition of a crime of violence); any violation classified
as a felony in this State; or any violation classified as a misdemeanor
in this State that carries a statutory penalty of more than two
years?"
In fact Mr. Pasik had been adjudicated delinquent for second degree
assault in 1998. Second degree assault is a crime of violence and
carries a statutory penalty of more than two years.
This case was investigated by the Maryland State Police Firearms
Enforcement Section and prosecuted by the Firearms Trafficking
Unit of the Criminal Investigations Division of the Office of the
Attorney General.
