ANNE
ARUNDEL COUNTY COMPANY CHARGED WITH CONSTRUCTION VIOLATION
Attorney
General J. Joseph Curran, Jr. announced today that Three Rivers
Sportsmen,
Inc., a Maryland corporation, was charged in
the Circuit Court of Anne Arundel County with violating the State’s
sediment control laws. The charge alleges that from March 1, 2003
through April 23, 2003, Three Rivers performed construction at
the Three Rivers Sportsmen’s Club at 215 Three Rivers Road
in Anne Arundel County without obtaining an approved sediment control
plan.
If convicted of the charge, Three Rivers Sportsmen, Inc. could
be fined up to $5,000.
The filing of charges is merely an accusation of criminal wrongdoing
and anyone charged is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
This
charge follows a joint investigation conducted by the Environmental
Crimes Unit of the Office of the Attorney General and the Maryland
State Police.
A
trial date has not yet been set.
