BALTIMORE
CITY MAN INDICTED FOR UNLAWFUL TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE OF
CONTROLLED HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE
Attorney
General J. Joseph Curran, Jr. announced today the indictment
of Carl Adkins,
43, of 1340 Towson Street, Baltimore City, on two counts of the
unlawful storage of a controlled hazardous substance and one count
of the unlawful transportation of a controlled hazardous substance.
The
indictment alleges that from June 2001 through October 2003,
Adkins allegedly illegally transported a hazardous substance
to,
and illegally stored a hazardous substance in, a garage located
at 1200 Ward Street in Baltimore City. The garage at 1200 Ward
Street is not a controlled hazardous substance facility.
All
individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond
a reasonable doubt. If convicted, Adkins faces up to five years’ incarceration
and a fine of up to $100,000 for each count.
