PRINCE
GEORGE’S MAN AND D.C. COMPANY
CHARGED FOR ILLEGAL DUMPING
Attorney General
J. Joseph Curran, Jr. announced today that a Prince George’s
County man has been charged with illegal dumping. George E. Rodgers,
Jr., 38, of Mitchellville, Maryland,
is charged with causing the dumping of solid waste in excess of
five hundred pounds, causing dumping in excess of 216 cubic feet,
and with causing dumping for commercial gain at 6805 Bird Wing
Place in Charles County. Rodgers Brothers Custodial Service, Inc.,
a District of Columbia Corporation registered in Maryland, faces
similar charges.
The charging document alleges that on or about January 20, 2003
continuing through and including January 31, 2003 Rodgers and the
company disposed of litter on private property. Each count is a
misdemeanor that carries a possible penalty of up to five years
in prison and/or a $25,000 fine.
A charging document is merely an allegation; all defendants are
presumed innocent until proven guilty.
