PRINCE
GEORGE'S MAN CHARGED WITH ILLEGALLY
DUMPING AND STORING TIRES
Attorney
General J. Joseph Curran, Jr. announced today that charges were
filed against an individual for the unlawful transport, disposal
and storage of scrap tires in Prince Georges County.
James
Jackson, 43, of the 5000 block Roseld Court, Oxon Hill, Maryland
was charged in a six count criminal information with the unlawful
transport, disposal and storage of scrap tires as well as littering
in the 2700 block of Kaverton Road, Forestville, Maryland on April
15, 2002.
Jackson
is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
The
maximum penalty for each count of littering and disposal of scrap
tires is five years incarceration and/or a $25,000 fine. The maximum
penalty for transporting or storing scrap tires is a $10,000 fine.
