ATTORNEY GENERAL CURRAN HOLDS YOUTH
FORUM Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr., announced today that he will be holding the next event of his statewide Maryland Youth Forum at Garrett Community College, 687 Mosser Road, in McHenry, on Thursday, April 26 at 1:30 p.m. The goal of the program is to help improve the response to problems faced by young people in Maryland by listening to kids talk about a range of issues, such as juvenile crime, substance abuse, dangers of the Internet, and school bullying. The themes and ideas that evolve from these meetings will be used to formulate a report which will outline the need for new programs and policy initiatives, and be sent to elected officials, as well as school officials and local law enforcement officers. Attorney General Curran has invited parents, school and local community leaders to participate in the discussion with students from throughout the Garrett County school system.
