WITH HOMELAND SECURITY DIRECTOR TOM RIDGE THURSDAY

Maryland AG One of Three Attorneys General Invited to Discuss National Security Strategy

Attorney General J. The meeting will afford Curran an opportunity to discuss local and state-level planning in the event of a terrorist strike in Maryland.

"I have spoken to various officials throughout the state to find out what their needs are and what more they think the federal government can do to assist them in their local preparedness efforts," Attorney General Curran said. "I will voice those concerns to Governor Ridge and I look forward to the opportunity to represent Maryland's security interests at this discussion."

Other invited guests include representatives of the National Governors Association, National Conference of State Legislatures, the American Legislative Exchange Council, the National District Attorneys Association, as well as various U.S. counties and cities.
