ATTORNEY GENERAL CURRAN TO MEET Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr., announced today that he will be among three Attorneys General to meet with Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge tomorrow, April 25, from 1:00-4:00 p.m., in the Indian Treaty Room of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, to discuss the national homeland security strategy. The meeting will afford Curran an opportunity to discuss local and state-level planning in the event of a terrorist strike in Maryland. "I have spoken to various officials throughout the state to find out what their needs are and what more they think the federal government can do to assist them in their local preparedness efforts," Attorney General Curran said. "I will voice those concerns to Governor Ridge and I look forward to the opportunity to represent Maryland's security interests at this discussion." Other invited guests include representatives of the National Governors Association, National Conference of State Legislatures, the American Legislative Exchange Council, the National District Attorneys Association, as well as various U.S. counties and cities. ### |
