WALDORF MAN CHARGED WITH FAILING TO FILE STATE TAXES

Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr. announced today that Thomas D. Johnson, of 2755 Wigeon Court, Waldorf, has been charged with two counts of Failure to File State Income Tax Returns for tax years 1998 and 1999.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. If convicted he could be sentenced on each count to a maximum of five years incarceration and a fine of up to $5,000.

The case was referred by the Comptroller’s Office, Compliance Division and investigated by the Maryland State Police and the Office of the Attorney General, Criminal Investigations Division.
