CURRAN CHARGES STATE EMPLOYEE WITH MAKING FALSE BOMB THREAT ON SEPTEMBER 12

Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr. announced today that Sylvia Bradley, 36, of Williston Street, Baltimore, Maryland, an employee of the State Department of General Services, was served with charges relating to her making a false report of a bomb threat, and making false reports to a police officer and to a State official and agency on September 12, 2001.

Though the charges are merely an accusation of wrongdoing and every individual is presumed innocent unless the State proves the charges beyond a reasonable doubt, if convicted of the felony of making a false report of a bomb, and of the misdemeanors of making false reports, Ms. Bradley faces a maximum sentence of 11 years in prison and $11,000 in fines.

This case was referred to the Office of the Attorney General by the Maryland Department of General Service Police who conducted the investigation which resulted in the charging of Ms. Bradley.
