Aspiring Lawyer Spends the Day With Curran as Part of Job Shadow Day

February 15, 2000

Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr., will participate in Job Shadow Day on February 16, 2000 (rescheduled from original date due to snow). The day is dedicated to giving young people across America an opportunity to explore careers under the guidance of an adult mentor.

Lake Clifton-Eastern High School student Darnell Golden will shadow General Curran from 9am to 12pm. Golden is interested in a career in law, criminal justice and law enforcement. He is also a member of the National Honor Society.

The Maryland State Department of Education invited the Attorney General to participate in the program which is designed to showcase the benefits of a career in public service. National agencies and organizations such as America's Promise, American Society of Association Executives, Junior Achievement, and the National School-to-Work Office will be celebrating Job Shadow Day by working to match 1,000,000 young people with job shadowing mentors.

The media is welcome to cover the event any time between 9am-12pm at 200 St. Paul St.
