Youth residential group home for boys is operated by Kent
Youth, Inc., a primary care agency for the Maryland Department
of Juvenile Services. The company is a private, non-profit
organization, governed by a fifteen member volunteer board
of directors. Kent Youth, Inc. employs thirty staff members.
Kent
Youth accepts boys 14 to 18 years old who have been adjudicated
and are working with a state juvenile counselor. The boys’ home
was founded in 1971 to offer a locally based alternative
to institutionalization or out-of-state placement.
